Motheo TVET College Nsfas Application

The National Student support is a South African government student financial aid scheme which provides financial aid to poor undergraduate students to help pay for the cost of their tertiary education after finishing high school. It is funded by the Department of Higher Education and Training.

Who qualifies for NSFAS

  1. A South African citizen.
  2. A Registered or intend to register for NCV or NATED (Report 191) Programme
  3. Persons in need of financial support.
  4. Academically good students who needs financial support.
Applicants who are approved for NSFAS funding are covered for the following: 
  • Registration
  • Tuition​
Allowances for:
  • Food
  • Accommodation or transport
  • Learning material
  • Personal care

The following documents are needed for NSFAS Application;

  • Original copies of Identity Document/Birth Certificate
  • Original Academic Results Latest
  • Proof of parent’s income (If parent/s employed)
  • Death Certificate/s (If parent/s deceased)
  • Doctor’s Certificate (If permanently disabled)

Motheo TVET College Nsfas Application procedures

  •     Your own cellphone number and email address
  •     Copy of your Identity Document or birth certificate
  •     ID copies of parents, guardian or spouse
  •     Your proof of income or 1 year’s IRP5 (if applicable)
  •     Your parents, guardian or spouse’s proof of income
  •     If you are a SASSA grant recipient, no proof of income will be required
  •     Applicants with a disability must submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form, click here to download
  •     An applicant who is recognized as a Vulnerable Child by the Department of Social Development must provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form, click here to download.

Step 2: Create a myNSFAS account

Step 3: Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab and answer the questions on the screen

Step 4: Upload the required supporting documents then click on ‘submit’
