Goldfields TVET College Nsfas Application Requirements 2023
Goldfields TVET College has made it possible for its students to apply for Nsfas bursaries to support them in their education journey. Starting from the 2nd of November 2022, the Nsfas application window for the 2023 academic year will be open. All South African students who have been enrolled in Goldfields TVET College can apply for the funds.
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme NSFAS was established in terms of the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (Act 56 of 1999) to provide financial aid to eligible students at public TVET colleges and public universities. NSFAS bursaries are available but they are not guaranteed even to students who are deemed financially needy. NSFAS will be liable for full payments of applicants’ tuition fees during the period of study.
The Nsfas application for 2023 will be closing on the 7th of February 2023. Applications that will be submitted after the application deadline will be rejected. It is therefore urged to apply now while the applications are still open.
Goldfields TVET College Online Nsfas Application Date 2023-2024
The 2023 online application window for Nsfas will be open from the 2nd of November 2022 and the application will be closing on the 7th of February 2023. There may be no date extension for this year, therefore applicants must apply within the Nsfas application date.
Who Is Eligible To Apply For Nsfas At Goldfields TVET College 2023
The following are the people who are qualified to receive Nsfas:
- All South African citizens
- All SASSA grant recipients qualify for funding
- Applicants whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 per annum
- A person with a disability: Combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per annum
- Students who started studying before 2018 whose household income is not more than R122 000 per annum.

What Does The Nsfas Bursary Cover For Goldfields TVET College 2023
NSFAS cover the following:
- Accommodation in an urban area
- Accommodation in a peri-urban area
- Accommodation in a rural area
- Transport (if you reside up to 40 km from the institution)
- Incidental/personal care allowance
- Registration
- Tuition
Additional support:
NSFAS-funded students who have a disability are further supported through an additional allowance for:
- Medical Assessment: Limited to one assessment for the duration of the qualification and on request by the Disability Unit/ Student Support
- Assistive Devices: Limited to one Assistive Device for the duration of the study.
- Human Support: To cover the cost of a caregiver, guide dog, scribe, tutor or sign language interpreter

The Nsfas application requirements for the TVET Colleges Bursary Scheme are:
- South African Citizenship
- Enrolled or intending to enrol at a Public TVET College
- In need of financial assistance
- Able to demonstrate potential for academic success
- Original copies of Identity Document/Birth Certificate
- Original Academic Results Latest
- Proof of parent’s income (If parent/s employed)
- Death Certificate/s (If parent/s deceased)
- Doctor’s Certificate (If permanently disabled)
Goldfields TVET College Online Nsfas Application Process 2023
The procedure below is to guide Goldfields TVET College students apply for Nsfas for 2023:
- Go to www.nsfas.org.za
- Clicck on myNsfas Tab
- Click on register
- Tick the box to allow Nsfas to verify your details
- Capture your ID number as it is stated on your ID documents
- Type in your full name and surname as indicated on the ID
- Enter your current and functioning email address
- Confirm your email address
- Enter your cell phone number
- Create a password for yourself
- Confirm the password you generated
- Upload your ID copy
- Click on Register to apply
- An OTP will be sent to the email and phone number you provided ( the OTP will expire within 24hrs)
- Type in the OTP and click on SUBMIT
- Your Nsfas application has been successfully completed
