Flavius Mareka TVET College Nsfas Application
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme -NSFAS was established in terms of the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (Act 56 of 1999) to provide financial aid to eligible students at public TVET colleges and public universities. NSFAS bursaries are available but they are not guaranteed – even to students who are deemed financially needy. NSFAS will be liable for full payments of applicants tuition fees during the period of study.
Also;
- Continuous students who are already funded by NSFAS in the previous year need not to re-apply for NSFAS, as the NSFAS will automatically continue to fund if you have made an academic progress to the next level of their programme.
- The lists of provisionally funded students are sent regularly to college by NSFAS to allow students to be advanced with allowances therefore attendance and retention is maintained.
- It is encouraged that students that at all times they must attend their classes as travel and accommodation allowance to a beneficiary who fails to meet the minimum 80% class attendance requirement for a particular month in accordance with the DHET TVET Students Attendance and Punctuality Policy 2013 will not be disbursed.
Who qualifies for NSFAS
- A South African citizen.
- A Registered or intend to register for NCV or NATED (Report 191) Programme
- Persons in need of financial support.
- Academically good students who needs financial support.
The following documents are needed for NSFAS Application;
- Original copies of Identity Document/Birth Certificate
- Original Academic Results Latest
- Proof of parent’s income (If parent/s employed)
- Death Certificate/s (If parent/s deceased)
- Doctor’s Certificate (If permanently disabled)
