Port Elizabeth TVET College Nsfas Application Requirements 2023

Port Elizabeth TVET College has made it possible for its students to apply for Nsfas bursaries to support them in their education journey. Starting from the 2nd of November 2022, the Nsfas application window for the 2023 academic year will be open. All South African students who have been enrolled in Port Elizabeth TVET College can apply for the funds.

National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is a South African student financial support scheme which helps undergraduate students financially by paying the cost of their entire period of education. This is funded by the Department of Higher Education and Training. Port Elizabeth TVET College Nsfas are available to qualifying students that are in need of financial assistance and are able to demonstrate academic excellence.

The Nsfas application for 2023 will be closing on the 7th of February 2023. Applications that will be submitted after the application deadline will be rejected. It is therefore urged to apply now while the applications are still open.

The 2023 online application window for Nsfas will be open from the 2nd of November 2022 and the application will be closing on the 7th of February 2023. There may be no date extension for this year, therefore applicants must apply within the application date.

The following are the people who are qualified to apply for Nsfas:

  1. A South African citizen.
  2. A Registered or intend to register for NCV or NATED (Report 191) Programme
  3. Persons in need of financial support.
  4. Academically good students who need financial support.

 

What Does The Nsfas Bursary Cover  For Port Elizabeth TVET College

NSFAS covers the following for Port Elizabeth Tvet College students:

  • Accommodation in a peri-urban area
  • Accommodation in a rural area
  • Transport (if you reside up to 40 km from the institution)
  • Incidental/personal care allowance

Port Elizabeth TVET College Nsfas Application Requirements 2023

The following documents are needed for NSFAS Application;

  • Original copies of Identity Document/Birth Certificate
  • Original Academic Results Latest
  • Proof of parent’s income (If parent/s employed)
  • Death Certificate/s (If parent/s deceased)
  • Doctor’s Certificate (If permanently disabled)

Students who want to apply for NSFAS should make sure they have none of the following;

  • No criminal record
  • Not younger than 17 years
  • South African Citizen
  • No visible tattoos

 

All students will be required the following

  • A Good Conduct certificate from your previous school or place of work
  • A certified copy of the last school report original must be presented on the application
  • 8 certified copies of ID (where a student is 16 years or older) original must be presented on the application

Port Elizabeth Tvet College Nsfas Application Requirements For Transfer Students

Students who transfer from another FET College must submit the following:

Reason for transfer

  • A letter to confirm that they have been de-registered at the previous institution
  • A Certified copy of the Identity Document
  • A report of their academic history on a College letterhead, including Internal Continuous Assessment (ICASS) and Integrated Summative Assessment (ISAT) results
  • The student’s Portfolios of Evidence for all subjects from the previous institution, if transferring during an academic year
  • A Certificate of Good Conduct, from their previous institution of learning

 

Port Elizabeth TVET College Online Nsfas Application Process 2023

The procedure below is to guide Port Elizabeth TVET College students apply for Nsfas for 2023:

  • Go to www.nsfas.org.za
  • Clicck on myNsfas Tab
  • Click on register
  • Tick the box to allow Nsfas to verify your details
  • Capture your ID number as it is stated on your ID documents
  • Type in your full name and surname as indicated on the ID
  • Enter your current and functioning email address
  • Confirm your email address
  • Enter your cell phone number
  • Create a password for yourself
  • Confirm the password you generated
  • Upload your ID copy
  • Click on Register to apply
  • An OTP will be sent to the email and phone number you provided ( the OTP will expire within 24hrs)
  • Type in the OTP and click on SUBMIT
  • Your Nsfas application has been successfully completed
