NSFAS was established in terms of the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (Act 56 of 1999) the mission statement is made up of three well defined elements, which describe why NSFAS exists and its impact on the people it serves:

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is a South African government student financial aid scheme provides financial support to the less privilege students to help pay for the cost of their tertiary education. The NSFAS is funded by the Department of Higher Education and Training

Students who wish to study at the College through NSFAS Bursary must APPLY ONLINE at http://www.nsfas.org.za/content/

Criteria for College Nsfas Application are as follows

  1. Be a South African citizen.
  2. You need to be enrolled for the NC(V) programs at any of the 50 public FET colleges in South Africa.
  3. Be in need of financial support.
  4. Be able to demonstrate potential for academic success.

To apply for the NSFAS bursary, the following documents are needed for NSFAS Application;

  • Original copies of Identity Document/Birth Certificate
  • Original Academic Results Latest
  • Proof of parent’s income (If parent/s employed)
  • Death Certificate/s (If parent/s deceased)
  • Doctor’s Certificate (If permanently disabled)

  • Accommodation in an urban area
  • Accommodation in a peri-urban area
  • Accommodation in a rural area
  • Transport (if you reside up to 40 km from institution)
  • Incidental/personal care allowance
  • Registration & Tuition
