Tvet College in South Africa are technical and vocational which impacts skills in their students so they can align with the current digital era. These colleges are registered under the Department of Higher Education and Training of South Africa.

Currently, there are about 50 registered and public Tvet Colleges in South Africa, with about 360 campuses across the provinces of the nation which makes it easier for applicants to find a campus that is nearer to them instead of travelling miles for college. With both online and on-site classes, students have the opportunity to decide which class will suit them.

With the adoption of the online method of application, applicants do not need to visit the college campus or headquarters in other to submit applications, but from the comfort of their homes or locations, applications can be submitted. Applicants are to make sure they have all the required documents available before beginning the application process.

How Many Tvet Colleges Are In South Africa

In South Africa, there are 50 licensed and approved public TVET institutes with 364 campuses located throughout the country’s rural and metropolitan areas. The Department of Higher Education and Training administers the Continuing Education and Training Act 16 of 2006, which controls the establishment and operation of public TVET colleges. Requirements For Tvet Colleges Applications 2025-2026

First-time applicants applying for admission to any of the Tvet Colleges are to provide the following documents:

South African Citizens

  • A certified copy of your ID
  • Latest school results
  • Proof of Residence
  • Valid Email Address

International Students

  • Certified copies of passport
  • SAQA-approved foreign qualifications
  • Proof of medical insurance or cover
  • Valid study permit

Applications Process For Tvet Colleges 2025-2026

Tvet colleges are open for the 2025 academic year and are still accepting applications, to apply, follow the process provided below:

  • To obtain an application form, go to the college’s website.
  • Fill in the blanks.
  • Choose a course that corresponds to your qualifications.
  • Provide all necessary documentation, such as a valid identification card, certified results, or a certificate.
  • Where relevant, provide identification of parents and/or guardians, as well as a death certificate.
  • Where applicable, international students must present their passport ID.
