University of Alabama-Birmingham Application Admission Requirements 2023-2024

Your decision to apply for admission with a test score or as test-optional is final and cannot be changed once your application is submitted:

  • Apply using ACT or SAT scores. Test scores included on an official high school transcript or submitted directly from ACT or College Board are considered official for admission purposes. UAB does not “super score” ACT or SAT results; your highest composite score will be considered.
  • ACT – February test
  • SAT – March test
  • Apply as test-optional. Students who apply for test-optional are not required to submit test scores for admission or scholarship consideration.

University of Alabama-Birmingham Application Process For Admission 2023-2024

Students can apply using the UAB Application or the Common Application using the steps below:

  • Complete and submit the admission application and $40 application fee, payable by credit or debit card, or an application fee waiver. If you are applying test-optional, please review the test-optional policy.
  • Submit your official high school transcript electronically or by mail.
  • Submit your ACT or SAT scores if you would like them used for admission and scholarship consideration.

 

UAB Undergraduate Admissions Application For 2023-2024

  • Please establish a Guest Account with your email address to apply for admission to UAB.
  • A password will be emailed to you once you save the demographic page of the application.
  • Your email address and password will be used to complete a saved, unfinished application or to check the status of a submitted application.
  • Employees and students having access to BlazerNET are urged to apply using their BlazerID and password.

Admission Requirements

  • Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) after completing 24 semester hours of transferable college-level work.
  • Good academic standing at all colleges and universities you have attended.
  • If you have fewer than 24 credit hours of transferable work, then you also must meet the minimum admission requirements for entering freshmen.

UAB credential evaluators will review the transcripts of all students who have taken university-level coursework outside of the United States. You must submit all transcripts and mark sheets and any degree certificates, diplomas, or provisional certificates for all universities you have attended. After the evaluation is completed, UAB will use the evaluated grade point average (GPA) to make an admission decision. The minimum GPA required is 2.00 out of 4.00.
