Your decision to apply for admission with a test score or as test-optional is final and cannot be changed once your application is submitted:
- Apply using ACT or SAT scores. Test scores included on an official high school transcript or submitted directly from ACT or College Board are considered official for admission purposes. UAB does not “super score” ACT or SAT results; your highest composite score will be considered.
- ACT – February test
- SAT – March test
- Apply as test-optional. Students who apply for test-optional are not required to submit test scores for admission or scholarship consideration.

Students can apply using the UAB Application or the Common Application using the steps below:
- Complete and submit the admission application and $40 application fee, payable by credit or debit card, or an application fee waiver. If you are applying test-optional, please review the test-optional policy.

- Submit your ACT or SAT scores if you would like them used for admission and scholarship consideration.

- Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) after completing 24 semester hours of transferable college-level work.

- If you have fewer than 24 credit hours of transferable work, then you also must meet the minimum admission requirements for entering freshmen.
