The University of Alabama in Huntsville Admission Requirements 2025-2026

High school seniors are expected to have completed the following courses:

  • A minimum of four English units.
  • Algebra I, Algebra II and Geometry are three mathematics units (Trigonometry is also highly suggested by the College of Engineering and recommended by all other colleges).
  • Three scientific units.
  • Four history and/or social studies units
  • Academic electives to fulfill the twenty Carnegie high school units requirement. Foreign language, computer programming, theology, and philosophy courses, as well as advanced science and math courses, may be included.
  • Applicants with deficiencies in the required high school courses may be admitted in good standing under certain circumstances. The deficiencies, however, must be remedied during the first year of enrollment in a manner approved by the concerned department. Courses taken to remedy entrance deficiencies cannot be used to satisfy degree requirements.

Upon enrollment, new freshmen and transfer students are automatically considered for academic scholarships.
