Gadsden State Community College is a public, open-door, comprehensive community college with five campuses or educational centers in the counties of Calhoun, Cherokee, and Etowah.
Within the areas it serves, Gadsden State has a long and famous history. Administrators, instructors, and staff collaborate to prepare students for immediate employment or transfer to a four-year institution.
Gadsden State University provides more than 80 certificate and associate degree programs.
Programs can also provide specific training required by business and industry, or they can function as the first two years of a bachelor’s degree-granting transfer program.

What is the procedure for applying for admissions?
- To begin the application process, click here.
- Create a new user account in Step 1 by going to the application portal.
- Complete the online application by following the procedures.
- Applying to GSCC is completely free!
- Review Steps 2-6 on the admissions checklist page and complete any that apply to you.
- When the Admissions Office gets all of your documents, they will send you an email and a letter with your student number and information for the student portal.

Financial Aid
Students must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Help to assess their financial aid eligibility (FAFSA).
Aid eligibility is determined on the information supplied on the FAFSA.
Before submitting an online FAFSA application, read the Application Touchpoints.
The US Department of Education has allowed year-round Pell Grants, allowing students to use funds to pay for tuition and fees for the Summer semester.
Students must enroll and attend at least half-time in order to be eligible, and they must maintain satisfactory academic progress in line with federal requirements.

- You must submit an FAFSA application for each academic year: Fall, Spring, and Summer.
Each year, you must submit a new FAFSA.
- If you have any problems or questions while completing the application, call the FAFSA toll-free assistance line at 800-433-3243.
They are open till 11:00 p.m. Central Standard Time.
- It is critical to obtain an FSA ID.
To electronically sign, the student and a parent (if applicable) will need their own FSA ID.
The processing time will be lengthened if signatures are missing.
