Tshwane South College Registration Dates Requirements For 2023-2024

The registration date open for Tshwane South Tvet College for the year 2023 starts from the 1st of September 2022 and closes on the 30th of November 2022. Prospective students should bare in mind that if their application process was not successful, then they cant register. Only applicants who were successful in their application process will be invited by the college to proceed to do their registration process

Tshwane South TVET College (TSC) is an enlisted public Technical and Vocational Education and Training College as far as the Continuous Education Training Act (CET Act No.16 of 2006). TSC is a consolidation of three previous Technical Colleges specifically Atteridgeville, Centurion and Pretoria West, as Gazetted in 2001(Notice 7311, Gazette No 240 of December 2001). In 2006, TSC acquired its fourth Campus (Odi Campus) from Orbit TVET College because of the rezoning of the Provincial lines.

QUALIFICATION ADMISSION REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
N1 Certificate ·        Passed Grade 12 (with a pass in Mathematics and an APS score of 18)

·        Passed Grade 11 (with a pass in Mathematics and an APS score of 20)

·        Passed Grade 10 (with a pass in Mathematics and relevant technical subjects and an APS score of 22)

·        Passed Grade 10 (with a pass in Mathematics and an APS score of 22)

·        Passed Grade 9 (with a 50% pass in Mathematics and English FAL and an APS score of 24)

·        A Pre-Vocational Programme (PLP) certificate with a 50% pass in Foundational English and Foundational Life Skills and a 60% pass in Foundational Mathematics and Foundational Science. No APS score for this programme

N2 Certificate ·        Passed N1 with 4 subjects on the same level

·        Passed N1 with 3 subjects on the same level

·        Passed Grade 12 (with a pass in Mathematics & Science)

·        Passed Grade 11 (with a pass in Mathematics & Science and relevant technical subjects*)

·        Passed NC(V) Level 2 (all subjects)

*Mechanical Engineering – If a student does not have Drawing subjects at the school level, he/she must start with an N1 certificate

*Civil Engineering – If a student does not have Civil subjects at the school level, he/she must start with an N1 certificate

N3 Certificate ·        Passed N2 with 4 subjects on the same level

·        Passed N2 with 3 subjects on the same level

·        Passed Grade 12 (with a pass in Mathematics, Science & 1 relevant technical subject*)

·        Passed NC(V) Level 3 (all subjects)

·        Mechanical – If a student does not have Drawing subjects at the school level, he/she must start with an N1 certificate

·        Civil – If a student does not have civil subjects at school level, he/she must start with an N1 certificate

N4 Certificate ·        Passed N3 with 4 subjects on the same level

·        Passed N3 with 3 subjects on the same level

·        Passed Grade 12 (with a pass in Mathematics, Science & 2 relevant technical subjects and an APS score of 24)

·        Passed NC(V) Level 4 (all subjects)

N5 Certificate ·        Passed N4 with 4 subjects on the same level

·        Passed N4 with 3 subjects on the same level

N6 Certificate ·        Passed N5 with 4 subjects on the same level

·        Passed N5 with  3 subjects on the same level

NOTE:

1.                  Preference is given to the employer students.

2.                  Foreign students’ qualifications must be evaluated by SAQA and they must have a valid study permit.

3.                  Because of the great influx of students in each term, preference is given to the category of students linked to the first bullet as well as our current students.

 

4.                  Example of how the score will be calculated: APS scores is calculated using the percentage score for the highest scoring subjects including Mathematics and excluding Life Orientation, then adding up all raw scores and dividing by 10.

The admission requirements are as per the programme as stipulated in Report 190/191:

 

QUALIFICATION ADMISSION REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
Introductory Studies N4 Certificate ·          Passed Grade 12 – an APS score of 22 using the best of 6 subjects including English with a pass of at least 40%.

·          Passed NC(V) L4 – an APS score of 22 using the best of 6 subjects including English with a pass of at least 40%.

N4 Certificate ·          Passed Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate with an APS score of 24 using double the English with a minimum pass of 40% and the best of 4 subjects)

·          Passed NC(V) L4 (with an APS score of 24 using double the English with a minimum pass of 40% and the best of 4 subjects)

·          Equivalent qualification on Level 4

*A student who wants to enrol for Management Assistant must take Introductory Information Processing N4 if he/she does not have a pass in CompuTyping/Computer Applications Technology Grade12. In order to obtain his/her N6 certificate, he/she must pass Information Processing N6.

A student who wants to enrol for Financial Management must take Introductory Accounting N4 if he/she does not have a pass in Accounting Grade 12. In order to obtain his/her N6 certificate, he/she must pass Financial Accounting N6.

N5 Certificate ·         Passed N4 with 4 subjects on the same level

·         Passed with 3 subjects on the same level

N6 Certificate ·         Passed N5 with 4 subjects on the same level

·         Passed N5 with 3 subjects on the same level

QUALIFICATION ADMISSION  REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
NQF Level 2 ·         A Grade 9 certificate with an APS score of 24 or

·         Passed Grade 10 with an APS score of 22 or

·         Passed Grade 11 with an APS score of 20 or

·         An Adult Basic Education and Training NQF level 1 certificate or

·         A recognise equivalent qualification obtained at NQF level 1 or

·         An approved bridging programme designed specifically to access NQF level 2 or

·         A Pre-Vocational Programme (PLP) certificate with a 50% pass in Foundational English and Foundational Life Skills and a 60% pass in Foundational Mathematics and Foundational Science. No APS score for this programme or

·         Recognition of prior learning assessment that meets the basic requirements for access to NQF level 2.

NQF Level 3 ·         A level 2 certificate or

·         A recognised equivalent qualification obtained at NQF level 2 or

·         An approved bridging programme designed specifically to access NQF level 3 or

·         Recognition of prior learning assessment that meets the basic requirements for access to NQF level 3.

NQF Level 4 ·         An NQF level 3 vocational certificate or

·         An appropriate registered equivalent qualification obtained at NQF level 3 or

·         An approved bridging programme designed specifically to access NQF level4 or

·         Recognition of prior learning assessment that meets the basic requirements for access to NQF level 4 or

·         Recognition of prior learning assessment for students not part of the South African school system.
