Shelton State Community College Application Requirements Admission 2023-2024

Submit the following documents in applying for admission to Shelton State Community College for 2023:

To apply for admission at SSCC, prospective students must meet the following requirements:

• Completed Application: Submit a completed online application form.
• Application Fee: Pay a non-refundable $30 application fee.
• High School Transcript: Provide an official high school transcript or GED certificate.
• College Transcripts: If applicable, submit official transcripts from all previously attended institutions.
• Standardized Test Scores: Submit ACT or SAT scores, if available. These scores are not required for admission but are used for placement
• purposes.
• Placement Test: If you have not taken the ACT or SAT, you may be required to take the ACCUPLACER placement test.

Application For Admission requirements for First Time Freshman Applicants:

• High school graduates who have never attended any college should submit a high school official transcript, with a graduation date posted directly to Enrollment Services, Box 190, Shelton State Community College, 9500 Old Greensboro Road, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405. Transcripts should only be sent after the student officially graduates from high school.

Application For Admission Requirements For Applicants with GED:

• Applicants who possess the General Educational Development (GED) must send a transcript directly to Enrollment Services from the test site or the Alabama State Department of Education.

Application For Admission Requirements For Transfer Students

• Students transferring from another college must request official transcripts from each previous college in addition to providing a final high school transcript or GED certificate. Applicants who have completed a baccalaureate degree or higher and do not plan to pursue a degree at Shelton State, are only required to submit an official transcript from the institution granting the highest degree.

• Enrollment/Dual Credit or Accelerated High School status must meet all eligibility requirements defined in the High School Students section.
