Jacksonville State University (JSU) is an Alabama state university located in the Appalachin foothills almost midway between Birmingham and Atlanta. Jacksonville State University Application Deadline For Admission 2025-2026

July for fall admission, November for spring admission, and April for summer admission are the general deadline dates for applications and submission of all needed application materials.

Jacksonville State University Application Requirements For Admission 2025-2026

All applicants are expected to meet the following:

  • For the 2025-2026 academic year, JSU is test-optional for freshman admission, which means that ACT/SAT scores are not required. Students’ admissions will be based on their high school grade point average (GPA)*.

 

  • Although test scores are not necessary, JSU advises students to transmit them every time they take an exam. Test scores are utilized for entrance to some academic programs, course placement, and some grants. Students who are denied admission to the institution based on an initial assessment of their high school grade point average may appeal their admissions decision to the Undergraduate Admissions Committee.

 

  • *GPA will be taken from the high school transcript which must be complete through the Junior Year. Students will be provisionally admitted until the final high school transcript has been received by the Admissions Office. Once the final transcript has been received, the GPA will be reviewed again and must meet the required minimum for admission. In lieu of the high school transcript, successful completion of the GED is acceptable.
