Tuskegee University’s application window for the 2025-2026 academic year season is now open to all potential students to apply to gain admission.  High school graduates from schools, continuing students and transfer students are all welcome to submit their applications.  Applicants must make sure they meet all the admission requirements of Tuskegee University before they apply else their application may be rejected.

Tuskegee University Admission Requirements 2025-2026

Criteria for freshmen

Freshmen students are seniors in high school or students who have graduated from high school but not attended college. Dual-enrolled students fall into this category as well.

 

Preferred Admission Requirements;

The preferred applicant will have earned a 21 ACT Composite Score or 1080 SAT Score (Evidence-Based Reading and Writing + Math) and an unweighted 3.0 cumulative high-school grade point average.

• While the decision is based upon the factors listed above, students must have completed the following course requirements in their high school curriculum:
• English – Four (4) years
• Social Studies – Three (3) years
• Mathematics – Three (3) years (This must include one year of Algebra I, one year of Algebra II, and one year of Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus,
• or Analysis)
• Science – Two (2) years (This must include one year of Biology and one year of Physical Science)

Note: Course requirements differ for students seeking to major in Nursing, Health Science, or Occupational Therapy.

 

Preferred high school curriculum for students seeking to major in nursing, health science, or occupational therapy:

• English – Four (4) years
• Social Studies – One (1) year
• Mathematics –  Two (2) years (This must include one year of Algebra I and one year of Algebra II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, or Analysis)
• Science – Two (2) years (One year of Chemistry and One year of Biological Science)

 

Tuskegee University Fresh Applicants Application Process For Admission 2025-2026

Steps for Freshmen Applicants:

• ​Submit your Admission Application
• Submit your $25 non-refundable application fee
• Submit your official high school transcript
• Submit your SAT or ACT test scores
• Submit a letter of recommendation through your online application portal

Standard Admission

• Applicants who believe their test scores accurately reflect their abilities are eligible for Standard Admission.
• If candidates choose regular admission, academic rigour (Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, Honors, and Dual-Enrollment courses), one (1) recommendation letter from a high school counsellor, teacher, or community leader, and ACT or SAT scores will be used to assess eligibility.
• Standard Admission applicants may be required to submit a 500-word maximum essay.

Transfer Students’ Criteria

• Students who have previously attended a college or university are known as transfer students.
• Students who are dual-enrolled do not fall under this category.
• A student who enrolls in summer school after graduating from high school but before enrolling at Tuskegee University is not considered a transfer student.

  Transfer Applicants’ Steps

• Submit your application for admission.
• Fill out the application and pay the $35 non-refundable application fee.
• Transcripts from all colleges and universities attended must be submitted.

The preferred transfer applicant will have earned twelve (12) transferable semester college credits and a 2.50-grade point average.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Having only the minimum GPA does not guarantee admission.  Each application is reviewed holistically for the program to which the student has applied.

Important Reminders

• On the application for admission, a transfer student must list all previous colleges or universities attended.
• All official college and/or university transcripts must be supplied before an application can be considered.
• A student who is now attending or has previously attended other schools and/or universities may not apply to Tuskegee University simply on the basis of his or her high school record.
• Any student who does so risks having their admission application rejected.

International Student Criteria

International applicants are those who are not nationals of the United States who have obtained or are in the process of acquiring a visa (typically an F-1 student visa).  International students are either categorized as International Freshmen or International Transfers.

• Submit a non-refundable application fee of $35
• Submit your official high school, college and/or university transcripts to World Education Service (WES) or Educational Information Evaluation (ECE) for assessment; Assessment of each course and cumulative grade point average is required. Students must pay a processing fee to WES or ECE. Transcripts that have been assessed should be sent directly to the University of Tuskegee by WES or ECE.
• If possible, submit your official transcripts from all colleges and/or universities in the United States that you attended.
• Submit your official test results from the International English Language Testing System & # 40; IELTS & # 41; Minimum 5.0 or Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL); Minimum 62 (on the Internet) or 500 (on paper).
• Submit an affidavit of financial support and a letter of bank support.
• Submit your results to the SAT 1 or ACT
• If possible, submit results from an English as a Second Language (ESOL) program from any US college or university you attended.

• The application will be evaluated only when all of the required documents have been received.
• Electronic documents such as email, fax and photocopies are not acceptable.
• Tuskegee University welcomes applications from prospective students living outside the US. Applying internationally, however, is a bit more complex. International students must meet standards, just as others, for admission. Tuskegee University accepts World Education System (WES) credential evaluations or Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) from non-U.S. schools to evaluate their international transcript. The WES or ECE form is required since their evaluations standardize the various academic credentials from around the world.

Tuskegee University’s Office of Student Financial Services administers financial aid and scholarship funds from the university, federal, state, county, and private sources.

These monies are given out to guarantee that qualifying students are able to attend the university.

Tuskegee University’s Financial Aid Program is intended to recognize academic excellence while also providing financial support to supplement family resources.
