SASSA Grant Payments Dates 2025-2026

Applicants who have applied for any of the Sassa grants as offered are to expect to receive their payments by the following dates:

SASSA April Grant Payments 2025

Payments of grants will be made in April by the following date:

• Older person’s allowance: Tuesday 1 April
• Disability allowance: Wednesday 2 April
• Children’s grants allowance: Thursday 3 April
• SASSA R350 social grant: Paid no earlier than Friday 4 April

SASSA May Grant Payments 2025

Grants to beneficiaries will be given out by the following dates in May:

• Older person’s allowance: Thursday 1 May
• Disability allowance: Friday 2 May
• Children’s grants allowance: Monday 5 May
• SASSA R350 social grant: No payments, officially expire before 1 May

SASSA June Grant Payments 2025

Sassa will pay grants to beneficiaries by the following dates in June:

• Older person’s allowance: Monday 2 June
• Disability allowance: Tuesday 3 June
• Children’s grants allowance: Wednesday 4 June

SASSA July Grant Payments 2025

The  following are the dates that payments will be made in July 2025:

• Older person’s allowance: Tuesday 1 July
• Disability allowance: Wednesday 2 July
• Children’s grants allowance: Thursday 3 July

SASSA Social Grant Payments In August 2025

The  following are the dates that payments will be made in August 2025:

• Older person’s allowance: Friday 1 August
• Disability allowance: Monday 4 August
• Children’s grants allowance: Tuesday 5 August

SASSA September Grant Payments 2025

Sassa will pay grants to beneficiaries by the following dates in September:

• Older person’s allowance: Monday 1 September
• Disability allowance: Tuesday 2 September
• Children’s grants allowance: Wednesday 3 September

SASSA October Grant Payments 2025

October payments will be made to recipients on the following dates:

• Older person’s allowance: Wednesday 1 October
• Disability allowance: Thursday 2 October
• Children’s grants allowance: Friday 3 October

SASSA November Grant Payments 2025

Sassa will pay grants to beneficiaries by the following dates in November:

• Older person’s allowance: Monday 3 November
• Disability allowance: Tuesday 4 November
• Children’s grants allowance: Wednesday 5 November

SASSA December Grant Payments 2025

The  following are the dates that payments will be made in December 2025:

• Older person’s allowance: Monday 1 December
• Disability allowance: Tuesday 2 December
• Children’s grants allowance: Wednesday 3 December

SASSA Social Grant Payments January 2026

The  following are the dates that payments will be made in January 2026:

• Older person’s allowance: Wednesday 1 January
• Disability allowance: Thursday 2 January
• Children’s grants allowance: Friday 3 January

SASSA February Grant Payments 2025

The following are the dates that payments will be made in February 2025:

• Older person’s allowance: Monday 3 February
• Disability allowance: Tuesday 4 February
• Children’s grants allowance: Wednesday 5 February

SASSA March Grant Payments 2025

The following are the dates that payments will be made in March 2025:

• Older person’s allowance: Monday 3 March
• Disability allowance: Tuesday 4 March

SASSA Grants Application Payments Requirements 2025-2026

When applying online, you’ll need to have certain documents ready for upload. These include:

• A valid South African ID or Birth Certificate.
• Proof of income if employed, or a sworn statement if unemployed.
• Proof of residency.
• Medical reports for Disability and Care Dependency Grants.

SASSA Grants Application Procedure 2024-2025

SASSA has embraced digital technology by offering an online application platform to streamline the application process, making it accessible, efficient, and user-friendly to all applicants. To apply using the online method, kindly follow the steps provided below:

STEP 1: CHOOSE AN APPLICATION METHOD

Applications for the SRD Grant can be submitted via WhatsApp, the SRD Website or via the SASSA Chatbot. You should only apply via one method – submitting more than one application will not speed up the process it may slow down your application. Please read how to apply each of these methods:

WhatsApp:

• Send a message via WhatsApp to 082 046 8553
• Provide your details
• You will receive a Reference number, an OTP and a link to click
• Click on the provided link, fill in your OTP and verify your account
• Fill in your surname and ID number
• Confirm the personal details that you provided via the WhatsApp chat

SRD Website:

• In your internet browser, visit the SRD Website
• Fill in your mobile number and ID number and click “send SMS”
• You will receive a 6-digit OTP via SMS
• Insert the OTP number on the SRD website and click “verify pin”

SASSA Chatbot:

• In your internet browser, visit the SASSA Website
• Click on the SRD R350 Grant assistance chatbox (the orange box on the side of the screen)
• Fill in your ID number and mobile number
• On the chat, choose the option to apply for the SRD R350 grant
• Click on the SRD website link provided by the SASSA Chatbot
• Follow the SRD website steps

STEP 2: AGREE TO THE T&C

Read and agree to the clauses in the Declaration and the Consent
Read and agree to the clauses on the Special COVID-19 SRD Grant document

STEP 3: PROVIDE YOUR DETAILS

Provide your personal information, including:

• ID Number
• Full Name and Surname (as printed on your ID Document/ ID Card)
• Gender
• Physical Address
• Contact Information (mobile number, email address)
• SASSA may request further information

STEP 4: CHOOSE YOUR PAYMENT OPTION / PROVIDE YOUR BANKING DETAILS

New applicants with a personal bank account, must provide the following information for payment:

• Your Bank Name
• Your Account Number
• Your Branch Name
• Your Account Type
• Agree to the Terms and Conditions
• Submit your Banking Details

New applicants without personal bank accounts, must provide the following information for payment:

• Choose Payment option – Cash Send
• Agree to Terms and Conditions
• Submit Banking Details

Existing applicants with a personal bank account, confirm the following information for payment:

• Confirm Existing Personal Banking Details
• Agree to Terms and Conditions
• Click Submit

Existing applicants with the cash option, who would like to change to the bank payment option, provide the following information for payment:

• Your Bank Name
• Your Account Number
• Your Branch Name
• Your Account Type
• Agree to the Terms and Conditions
• Submit your Banking Details

STEP 5: RECEIVE AN SMS

Applicants will receive an SMS notifying them of their banking details. After receiving this SMS, the SRD R350 Grant application is now active.

STEP 6: SASSA VERIFICATION AND VALIDATION

SASSA verifies your personal information (ID Number, Name and Surname) against the Department of Home Affairs database.

• SASSA matches your ID Number against approved databases such as UIF, SARS, NSFAS etc.
• Fraud Risk Scoring is conducted with Fraud prevention partners, whereby your ID number and mobile number are checked against the approved databases.
• Your application is then Approved or Declined with the reason (see below a list of reasons for being declined).
