Applicants applying for the Lurleen B. Wallace Community College for the 2025 academic year are expected to submit the following documents to authenticate their applications:

LBWCC First-Time Freshman Application Process:

A first-time college student must have ONE of the following:

  • Official high school transcript documenting graduation date
  • Official GED transcript documenting the date passed

Transcripts documenting the above must be official and must be mailed directly to:

  • Andalusia, AL 36420

In addition, the following items are also required:

  • a completed LBWCC Application for Admission;
  • an acceptable form of identification; applicants claiming in-state status for tuition purposes must also submit documentation of Alabama residency (for example, an Alabama driver’s license) and email copy to admissions@lbwcc.edu;
  • all male students between the ages of 18 and 26 must have registered with the U.S. Selective Service System.

An applicant who has previously attended another regionally accredited post-secondary institution(s) is considered a transfer student. Official transcripts from these institutions should be mailed directly to:

In addition, the following items are also required:

  • a completed LBWCC Application for Admission

LBWCC Transient Students Application Process

A transient student is a student who is currently attending another postsecondary institution but wishes to attend Lurleen B. Wallace Community College on a transient basis to take courses for the purpose of transferring those courses back to the parent institution. Transient students are not required to submit transcripts from the parent institution. Admission documents which are required of transient students are:

  • an official letter or transient form from the parent institution which certifies that the credit earned at LBWCC will be accepted as a part of the student’s academic program.
  • a completed LBWCC Application for Admission
  • an acceptable form of identification and documentation of Alabama residency for those applicants claiming in-state status for tuition purposes (for example, an Alabama driver’s license)

LBWCC International Students Application Process

Prior to being issued an I-20 form, an International Student must present to the Admissions Office the following:

  •  Completion of admission application to Lurleen B. Wallace Community College
  • A certified original translated and evaluated copy of the student’s high school transcript (Translations must be completed by an organization affiliated with The National Association of Credential Evaluation Services; see www.naces.org for information.)
  •  A current and valid passport or other official documentation to verify the lawful presence
  • A current photo (passport size, preferred)
  •  A minimum score of 5.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), a total score of 61 on the Internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or a total score of 500 on the paper-based TOEFL.*
  • A signed notarized statement verifying adequate financial support.
  • Payment of I-901 Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) Fee.
  •  A medical health history with proof of vaccinations
  •  Documentation demonstrating adequate health and life insurance, including repatriation, must be maintained during all periods of enrollment.

 

Federal Financial Aid Eligibility

Requirements Federal Student Aid Programs available are Federal Pell Grants, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG), and Federal Work-Study (FWS).

  • File a free application for Federal Student Aid at www.fafsa.gov, beginning October 1 of each year.
  • Demonstrate financial need. Have a high school diploma or a GED.
  • Be enrolled as a regular student in an eligible program. Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress.
  • Not be in default on Federal Perkins Loan (or National Direct Student Loan), Federal Stafford Loan (or Guaranteed Student Loan), Federal PLUS Loan or Supplemental Loan for Students (FSLS).
