Undergraduate Freshman Applicants

A freshman student at UCF is a high school senior or first-time-in-college student (FTIC) seeking an undergraduate degree or bachelor’s degree. Currently, the University of Central Florida welcomes a freshman class with an average high school GPA or weight high school GPA of 4.22 in Fall 2022. UCF has a way of calculating your high school grade point average (GPA) for admission.

HOW DOES UCF CALCULATE MY HIGH SCHOOL GPA FOR ADMISSION?

At the University of Central Florida, freshmen GPAs are calculated based on the academic core courses which are English, Math, Science, Social Studies and Foreign Language. UCF uses a 4.0 grading scale and awards additional quality points for any weighted courses within the academic core. Courses marked as pre-AP, pre-IB, pre-AICE and honours are awarded an additional 0.5 quality points whiles Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced International Certification of Education (AICE) and Dual Enrollment (DE) courses are awarded 1 additional quality point.

Undergraduate Transfer Applicants

A transfer student is an undergraduate or DirectConnect to UCF student transferring with existing credits. Transfer admission criteria vary based on the total number of transferable semester hours of college coursework a student must complete by the time he enrolls at UCF. All transfer students must meet the high school academic GPA and must make sure to earn a competitive overall college GPA.
