United States Sports Academy Admission Requirements 2023

Dr Thomas P. Rosandich founded the Academy in 1972 in response to the ever-increasing requirements and demands in sports and society in the United States. The Academy’s mission has been to serve the nation and the world as a resource for sports education through programs of instruction, research, and service since its inception. It is still the United States only accredited free-standing sports university.

During its inception, the Academy’s leadership had the ambition of creating a “university without walls.” The Academy would satisfy the demands of its students by teaching sports anywhere on the planet, and it has overcome this difficulty through flexibility, mentorship, and its distance learning delivery system, which allows all Academy degree-seeking students to complete their entire course of study online. With the introduction of web-based course delivery in 2001, this approach was continued.

Over the past 40 years, the Academy has become a national resource for sports education; it is known worldwide as “America’s Sports University ®.” With almost 1,300 students studying sport annually in the Academy’s degree and continuing education programs and judging by the success of its alumni, they are unquestionably among the finest.
