The 2025-2026 academic year is currently open to all potential students, continuing students and other students who are transferring from other universities to JSU  to apply to get admission to study at the University.  Applicants who wish to study for the Fall 2025 semester are to apply from August  2024 – August  2025 (Fall 2025 Preferred Admissions Application Period).

JSU is test-optional for freshman admission through Fall 2025 applicants, meaning ACT/SAT scores are not requirements for admission. Students will be accessed for admission based on their high school grade point average (GPA). Although test scores are not required, JSU want students send test scores each time they take an exam. Test scores can be used for admission into specific academic programs, placement into courses, and for some scholarships.

GPA will be taken from the high school transcript which must be completed through the Junior Year. Students will be then admitted until the final high school transcript has been received by the Admissions Office. Once the final transcript has been received, the GPA will be reviewed again and must meet the required minimum for admission.

Jacksonville State University Admission Requirements 2025-2026

• GPA will be taken from the high school transcript which must be completed through the Junior Year. Students will be provisionally admitted until the final high school transcript has been received by the Admissions Office. Once the final transcript has been received, the GPA will be reviewed again and must meet the required minimum for admission. In lieu of the high school transcript, successful completion of the GED is acceptable.

Applying for admission to Jacksonville State University is  very easy, follow the procedure below:

• Submit the $35 (USD) non-refundable application fee.
• Submit all required documents.

Note: JSU strongly encourages you to apply six to nine months prior to the expected date of enrollment. Decisions regarding admissibility to the University will be made as soon as all necessary credentials are received in the Office of Admissions.
