Government Sponsorship To Tvet Colleges

NSFAS is a government entity under the Department of Higher Education and Training established according to the NSFAS Act (Act 56 of 1999) to provide financial support to disadvantaged students who wish to further their studies at public universities or TVET colleges. NSFAS online application form will be open in November and close in January 2025. Kindly apply on time to avoid application rejection.

Who is Eligible to Apply For Government Sponsorship To Attend Tvet Colleges?

  • Students must enroll in more than three (3) subjects to be eligible for sponsorship.
  • Only academically successful students may apply for the next academic level.
  • Tvet Colleges reserves the right to verify the information on the application form. This information will be treated as confidential.
  • This bursary does not apply to employer students.
  • A student may ONLY apply for EITHER the transport or accommodation allowance.
  • 100% class attendance is expected to qualify for the transport or accommodation allowance.
  • Bursary recipients who switch from one program to another (i.e. from NC (V) to Report 191 program N1 – N3 or vice-versa) or change programs within an NC (V) or Report 191 program during their studies are not eligible for financial assistance.
  • Bursary recipients who complete NC (V) Level 4 are not eligible for financial assistance should they want to enroll in another NC (V) program or Report 191 program N1 – N3.

Required Documents Needed To Apply For Government Sponsorship To Tvet Colleges

Please make sure you have submitted all his required information when applying for the bursaries for the 2025 academic year:

  • Signed bursary application form
  • 5 Certified copies of I.D.
  • Proof of income (grant, pensions, etc) of both parents OR
  • The affidavit, if parents/sponsor/guardians are unemployed, deceased, or their whereabouts, is not known
  • Latest academic results of the applicant (average of 40%)
  • Proof of residence
  • I.D. or birth certificates of all household members
  • Reports of all students in the household

Application Process For Government Sponsorship To Tvet Colleges

NSFAS bursaries can be sent through the NSFAS online application or their offices. On the other hand, if you are applying online, you can follow the steps below:

  • Visit the NSFAS website: www.nsfas.org.za online
  • Then, you have to click on the “myNSFAS” tab
  • After that, you create your myNSFAS account
  • After creating myNSFAS account, you then have to click on the “Apply” tab
  • Answer the following questions you see on your screen
  • Update all your personal information
  • Upload all the required supporting documents
  • Lastly, Click on “Submit” to send your application for review.
