The Bursary Scheme is a funding made available by the South African Government to assist students has enrolled in FET Colleges for NC(V) programs or planning to enroll, but can not finance their studies.

On behalf of the Department of Higher Education and Training, the National Student Financial Aid Scheme administers the bursaries. The Department of Higher Education and Teaching aims to provide access to qualified students for vocational education and training at public FET colleges through the FET College Bursary Scheme.

The National Student Financial Aid Program is a financial assistance scheme for South African government students that offers financial assistance to disadvantaged undergraduate students to help pay for the cost of their tertiary education after completing high school. It is funded by the Higher Education and Training Agency.

Below are the criteria for for eligible applicants

  • A South African citizen.
  • Enrolled or intending to enroll for the NC(V) programes at any of the 50 public FET colleges in South Africa.
  • In need of financial assistance.
  • Able to demonstrate potential for academic success.
