Proof of residential address. In line with the Financial Intelligence Centre Act 83 of 2001, NSFAS must collect FICA documents during first contact, so a certified proof of address is required.

Rules for Applying for NSFAS Bursaries

NSFAS and TVET Colleges will not accept incomplete applications.
Successful applicants must accept and sign the Schedule of Particulars within fifteen working days after receiving notification from NSFAS. If this is not done within five working days, NSFAS will send the names of these students to the College for follow-up.
College fees will be covered first. If there are remaining funds, travel or accommodation allowances may be added.
Travel and accommodation allowances will only be released if the student maintains at least eighty per cent class attendance in all registered subjects.
