Are you high school graduate ready to begin an excellent academic journey?  Judson College is ready to walk on that journey with you.  Judson College is Judson has a rolling admissions system, which means that applications are examined and processed as they come in. However, apply at least six months before your projected enrollment date to ensure that all aspects of your application are complete and that you receive timely consideration for/notification about financial aid.

If you want to enroll for the fall semester, that’s March or April.  Students who have less than 28 semester hours of college credit or no prior college coursework are considered first-time students. Students who are enrolling for the first time should pursue a sequence of college preparation courses in high school.

 

Each student should have a firm foundation in the following courses:

• 4 years of English
• 3 years of math
• 2 years of social science
• 2 years of laboratory science

 

ADMISSION AVERAGES  

• The average incoming freshman GPA is 3.34;
• The average incoming freshman Composite ACT score is 23;
• the average incoming freshman Reading/Math SAT score is 1060;
• the middle 50% of Judson University students have an ACT score between 21 and 26;
• Academic Grants and Honors are available at Judson for motivated students, particularly those in the upper 25% of the ACT range. Students with an ACT score of less than 21 should speak with an Admissions Representative about their alternatives.

The Admissions Review Committee will review applicants who do not meet the minimum admission requirements. Only a few marginal candidates who have a good probability of excelling in college will be evaluated. Applicants who do not fulfill the minimum admission requirements will be evaluated by the Admissions Review Committee. Only a small number of marginal candidates who show a high likelihood of succeeding in college will be accepted to the institution.

The following documents must be submitted by first-time applicants:

• An application that has been completed using one of the following methods:
• A $50 application fee (waived until January 1), as well as approval of the Judson University Lifestyle Statement, must be submitted online.
• A print application, together with a signed copy of the Judson University Lifestyle Statement and a $50 application fee (waived until January 1)
• An authentic high school transcript of your academic record (6 semesters or more) supplied by the school where you graduated or will graduate.

Tests are not essential for Architecture or NAIA candidacy, although they are recommended. The American College Test (ACT) or the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) official results are given by the ACT program or the College Board, respectively. The ACT code for Judson is 1101, and the SAT code is 1351.

 

TRANSFER STUDENTS

Students who have completed at least 28 semester hours of college credit are considered transfer students.

Admission requirements for transfer students are as follows:

For transfer applicants, the Academic Policies Committee has established the following minimum admissions standards:

• Submitting an online application and paying a $50 application fee (waived until Jan. 1).
• A 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) cumulative GPA in all previous college studies.
• All official transcripts from institutions attended prior to Judson University must be submitted.
• Or, if you prefer, you can submit a printable application and pay the $50 application cost (waived until Jan. 1).

RE-ADMIT STUDENTS

Students who have withdrawn or been absent for a semester are re-admit students. Re-admit Student Broken Residency Policy: Students who leave Judson for two or more years and subsequently return are considered to have broken residence and must complete the graduation criteria of the catalogue in force at the time of their return.

The following application for readmission to Judson University is your responsibility.

 

After all of your materials have been received, you will be notified of the admission decision. All papers and correspondence should be forwarded to Judson University’s Admissions Office.  All materials and correspondence should be sent to the Admissions Office, Judson University, 1151 N State St, Elgin, IL 60123.

 

SECTION I

You will need to send the following:

• The completed application for re-admission with the $50 application fee (waived until Jan).
• Official transcripts of all academic work completed at other colleges since leaving Judson University.

 

SECTION II

You must return a “Place in Class” deposit if you are accepted for re-admission to Judson University. Residents and commuter students must submit a completed Residence Reservation form, and all students must submit the required medical documents and immunization records to the Health Center. Students must either get health insurance through the school or fill out a “Waiver of Insurance Form.”

Before you arrive on campus, we will give you a medical physical form that must be completed by your physician and returned to Admissions:

• We strongly encourage Alabama residents to apply for the Alabama Student Grant.
• You may also apply for the A. Earl Potts Scholarship through your home church if you are a member of an Alabama Baptist Convention church.
• Fine print:
• We may provide an eligible student a package of financial aid that includes more than one sort of aid; but, the total amount of Judson-funded or restricted financial aid a student receives cannot exceed the cost of her education.
• Judson College maintains the right to make changes to a student’s financial aid package.
