Gadsden State Community College Admission 2024-2025: Your Comprehensive Guide to a Bright Future:

Are you planning to apply to Gadsden State Community College for the 2024-2025 academic year? The 2024/2025 applications are currently open to prospective students who wish to apply to Gadsden State Community College to gain admission to study a qualification that is aligned with their career path. Applicants applying for admission are advised to submit their application before the deadline of application else the application may be denied or attract a late submission cost. The application deadline for spring 2024 is in December. Applicants who apply for admission in dual enrollment by May 1, 2023, are considered for a scholarship.

Once the Admissions Office receives all the items needed to clear you for admission, they will send you an email and a mailed letter with your student number and student portal information. Gadsden State offers more than 80 programs that lead to certificates or associate degrees. Programs also provide specific training required by business and industry or serve as the first two years of a transfer program resulting in a bachelor’s degree.

Gadsden State Community College Application Requirements For Admission 2023-2024

Before applying to Gadsden State Community College, ensure you meet the following requirements:

  • A completed application form: You can apply online through the college’s website or submit a paper application.
  • Official high school transcript or GED scores: Applicants must have graduated from an accredited high school or possess a recognized equivalent, such as the GED.
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residence: Documentation is required to verify your citizenship or legal status.
  • Placement test scores: Applicants must take the ACCUPLACER placement test or submit ACT or SAT scores for course placement purposes.
  • Proof of immunization: All applicants are required to provide proof of immunization against measles, mumps, and rubella.

 

Application Process For Gadsden State Community College Admission 2024-2025

Students who wish to enroll in GSCC should follow these steps to apply:

  • Complete an online application for admission, at www.gadsdenstate.edu.
  • Provide one primary form of identification
  • Submit at least one of the following:
  • An official high school transcript showing graduation date or;
  • An official GED transcript.  Alabama GED records can be obtained from www.ged.com.

 

Gadsden State Community College Admission Application For First-Time Freshmen 2024-2025

First-time Freshmen are new students that have never attended any college. To be considered for unconditional admission, first-time freshmen must:

  • Complete an online application for admission
  • Provide one primary form of identification per Alabama community college system policy 801.01.
  • Provide an official high school transcript showing a final GPA and graduation date

Note: Students with dual enrollment credit may be considered first-time freshmen for admissions purposes as long as they never attended another college for more than dual enrollment credit. Students with dual enrollment credit MUST submit college transcript(s).

 

Gadsden State Community College Admission Application For Transfer Students 2024-2025

Transfer students have attended one or more colleges or universities other than Gadsden State but wish to continue their education at Gadsden State. Transfer students must:

  • Complete an online application for admission
  • Provide an official transcript from high school and an official transcript from all colleges and universities previously attended. Students who have earned an associate’s or bachelor’s degree are not required to submit a high school transcript but must submit official transcripts from all colleges attended.
  • Provide one primary form of identification per Alabama Community College System Policy 801.01.

Note: Transfer students must adhere to the same standards of satisfactory academic progress as “native” students.  Those not meeting standards will be admitted on academic probation and noted as such on the transcript.

 

Gadsden State Community College Admission Application For Transient Students 2024-2025

Transient students are students who desire to enroll at Gadsden State, fully intending to return to their previous home colleges or universities to complete their studies. For admission as a transient student, applicants must:

  • Complete an online application for admission
  • Provide one primary form of identification per Alabama Community College System Policy 801.01.
  • The student must also submit a letter of transience.  The Transient Student Letter must contain the courses approved by the student’s home institution for transfer. Transient students must request a letter from the Registrar’s Office of their home institution indicating that the course(s) to be taken at Gadsden State will be acceptable at that institution. Letters of transience must be on file prior to the student’s registration for courses.   Transient students are not eligible for federal student aid.

Gadsden State Community College Admission Application For Dual Enrollment Students  2024-2025

Dual Enrollment students are high school students that have completed at least the ninth grade and have been approved to enroll for dual credit (both high school and college credit) in Gadsden State courses while still attending high school. Students must have a 2.5 high school GPA to qualify for dual enrollment, however, a 2.0 GPA may be accepted for certain approved programs.   • Complete an online application for admission
  • Provide one primary form of identification per Alabama community college system policy 801.01.
  • High school transcript
  • Submit a dual enrollment approval form signed by a high school administrator
  • The dual enrollment registration form is required prior to registration
