Stigma With Tvet Colleges: Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges help in equipping individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the workforce. However, despite their importance, TVET colleges often face a stigma that undermines their potential. In this article, we aim to shed light on the misconceptions surrounding TVET education and highlight its numerous benefits for individuals, industries, and society as a whole.
Using the comparative analytical methodology, the study revealed that there is: curriculum deficiency in TVET programmes; logistical challenges due to inadequate funding; poor linkage of TVET to industry; an unfair trend of inappropriate categorization of graduates on the field; and a continuous chain of leadership crisis.
