Samford University is currently open and receiving applications from applicants applying to gain admission into the institution for the 2023-2024 academic year. The application open for Samford University for 2023 is on August 1st, it is therefore advised to submit your application before the deadline.

Samford offers an online application and also accepts the Common Application. The application fee for the 2023 academic year is $40. Samford does not have a preference on which application you choose. All applicants receive the same review process. Students who apply via the Common Application do not need to submit an additional essay.

The University currently super scores both the ACT and SAT for admission. However, Samford only super scores on the SAT for scholarship eligibility. Please contact the testing agency to have your ACT and/or SAT scores sent directly to Samford.

There are several options that are available for financing your education at Samford. The university offers payment plans and student employment, while the federal government (U.S. Department of Education and the Treasury Department) and private education lenders offer long-term loans in the name of the student, the student and a co-signer and/or a parent.

All fresh applicants who are applying for the 2023 admissions are to make sure  they provide the following documents:

  • Official Test Scores, Essays, High School Transcript(s), Academic Recommendation
  • The university does not have specified minimum scores for admission or scholarships because Samford’s entrance and scholarship process is comprehensive.
  • Its middle 50% ACT and SAT scores, on the other hand, are 23-29 on the ACT and 1150-1380 on the SAT.
  • The deadline for our first scholarship is December 1st.

 

Application Requirements For Transfer Students

  • Transfer students with a minimum cumulative 2.50-grade point average on all college-level coursework, as long as they have taken at least 24 semester credits or 36 quarter credits at institutionally accredited schools or universities, are normally accepted.

First-time applicants applying for Samford University are to follow the procedures below:

 

Application

Samford accepts the Common Application as well as an online application.

  • There is a $40 application fee.
  • The university has no preferences as to which program you use.

Essay

  • Your essay should be at least 250 words long (one to two pages preferred).
