NWU Online Application 2025-2026: How to Appy at North West University 2025

The North-West University, NWU Online Application for the 2025-2026 Academic year will be open on 2 April 2024 and close on 31 August 2024 for undergraduate and some postgraduate programmes. Therefore all prospective applicants who want to study at North-West University (NWU) for the 2025-2026 academic cycle must submit an online application via the www.nwu.ac.za online application 2025 form portal before the closing date or deadline. NWU may not accept Late Applications for 2025 so apply online as soon as possible.

A prospective student applying for admission to the North-West University (NWU) must complete the prescribed application form, either on paper or electronically, and submit it to the North-West University Central Application Office according to the admissions procedure required by the faculty concerned, together with the required additional application documentation and proof of payment of applicable fees for application and selection.

Click on “New Application” to create a new student number
You will have the option to create a new NWU student number for the application.
Fill in all the mandatory fields, marked with the red asterisk
Choose a pin number and click the “NEXT” button to proceed
All Non-South African citizens must choose their country of birth when creating a student number
Do not choose South Africa in the Nationality tab
Choose the correct Nationality for International and Non-South African citizens.
Your new student number will be sent to you via e-mail and the cellphone number you added when creating the student number.
After creating the student number you will be directed to the application page to start the process of applying at the NWU
Fill in all the mandatory fields and click the “NEXT” button.
Enter your school subject information
After choosing all your subjects, type in the percentage obtained for each subject, and after that click “NEXT”
Choose your course of study. You will also be able to choose to start your studies in the second semester if the application is on time and the option is still available
Enter all your biographical information. Fill in all the mandatory fields as requested
Enter your contact details. Make the correct choice when choosing to grant permission to disclose your personal information.
After completing your application click the “Submit Application” button for NWU to start evaluating your application immediately.

All applicants should meet the following admission entry requirements in order to gain admission to NWU for 2024. Please remember that the below admission requirements are subject to change pending selection and possible faculty-specific requirements.

Bachelors degree in Accounting must have Mathematics Level 3, English level 4 with APS of 24
Bachelor of Education must have Home Language AND First Additional Language level 4 with APS of 26
Bachelors degree in Engineering should have NS(C) with full matriculation exemption, Mathematics level 6 (70%+), Physical Sciences level 6 (70%+) and Home OR First Additional Language at least level 5 (60%+) with an APS of 34
Bachelor of Health Sciences must have Mathematics level 5, Physical Sciences level 4 and Academic paper selection; best average mark
Bachelors degree in Arts must have a Home Language and First Additional Language level 5 (60%-69%) with an APS of 24
Bachelor of Arts in Law should have NS(C) OR NC(V) for degree studies, or with full matriculation exemption; Home language level 5 AND First Additional Language level 5 with APS of 28 or 30
Diploma in Animal Health and Animal Science should have English level 3, Physical Science level 3 OR Life Science level 3, Mathematics level 3 OR Technical Mathematics level 4 with an APS of 22
Bachelor of Science should possess Mathematics level 5, Physical Science level 4 and with APS of 26
BA in Ancient Languages as the first qualification must have NS(C) or NC(V) for degree studies, or with full matriculation exemption English level 4 with APS of 24
