Want to study at the North-West University in 2024? Applications open on 1 April 2023.
Before you get started on your online admission application, make sure to gather important documents and information related to your educational background, such as Grade 12 results, grade 11 results (final results only) or a copy of your matric certificate – if you have already passed matric.
Create Your NWU Account and log in.
The first step to applying for admission to NWU is creating your NWU Account and logging in. Your account will serve as your username and password throughout the application process. Once you’ve created it, you’ll be able to access all your information, submit application documents, and receive updates regarding the status of your admission at any time.
Visit the NWU website: The first step in applying to NWU is to visit the university’s website at https://www.nwu.ac.za/. On the homepage, click on “Apply” at the top right corner of the page.

Undergraduate students
In order to consider your application, please upload the following supporting documents. If the application is incomplete, it may be declined by the University:
Grade 12 results, grade 11 results (final results only) or a copy of your matric certificate – if you have already passed matric.
Applicants who are currently upgrading their grade 12 results, will only be considered after the improved results are presented to the NWU.
Applicants who follow Cambridge, GED or any other non-NSC curriculum, or who may qualify for exemption based on advanced age or post-school qualifications, must provide an exemption certificate as issued by USAF.
