CAMPUS MANAGER (PL 5)

  • Locations: Barberton Campus (Ref No: EHL13/2024), Mlumati Campus (Ref No: EHL14/2024 – Re-Advert)
  • Salary: R572,346.00 per annum, plus benefits

Requirements:

  • An appropriate degree/National Diploma or equivalent qualification
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in teaching and supervision/management within the Post-School Education and Training Sector
  • Willingness to work irregular hours
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with different levels of staff, students, and external stakeholders
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Outlook)
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Understanding of DHET’s strategic vision and priorities for the TVET College sector
  • Good knowledge of legislation, policies, and strategies governing the TVET College sector
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Leadership and strategic thinking skills
  • Good analytical skills and ability to liaise at the highest level
  • Managerial, supervisory, problem-solving, motivational, negotiation, and good interpersonal skills
  • Project and Resource Management skills

Duties:

  • Report to the Principal on general governance and management issues
  • Report to the Deputy Principal Academic Programmes and Student Support Services on Academic Programmes and Student Affairs
  • Report to the Deputy Principal of Corporate Services on HR, IT, Administration, and Communication
  • Report to the Chief Financial Officer on Finances and Supply Chain Management
  • Implement and monitor policy
  • Initiate innovations aligned with the Strategic Plan of the College and the TVET College Sector
  • Ensure quality assurance of learning delivery
  • Promote a culture of teaching and learning in line with relevant legislation, College policies, and the College’s strategic plan
  • Guide, supervise, and offer professional advice to all staff members
  • Oversee and monitor staff capacity-building activities in collaboration with the Human Resources Manager
  • Maintain staff and student discipline
  • Ensure equitable workload distribution for staff members
  • Ensure proper utilization, maintenance, and security of resources, facilities, and grounds
  • Oversee and monitor all examinations and assessment activities
  • Ensure the smooth running of the Campus and adherence to requests from the Central Office and the Department of Higher Education and Training within stipulated time frames
  • Oversee and monitor all administrative and financial activities

SENIOR EDUCATION SPECIALIST: BUSINESS STUDIES (HODs) (PL 3)

Location: Mlumati Campus (Ref No: EHL15/2024)

Salary: R465,843.00 per annum, plus benefits

Requirements:

  • An appropriate Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification plus a professional qualification in Education
  • Minimum of five years of relevant lecturing experience, with at least two years in a management or supervisory role within the TVET environment
  • Qualified artisan with a relevant trade in engineering is an added advantage for engineering-related posts
  • Strong interpersonal relations, motivation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Well-developed leadership, organizational, planning, and management skills
  • Sound report writing skills
  • Computer literacy
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Registration with SACE
  • Sound knowledge of legislative frameworks governing TVET Colleges

Duties:

  • Coordinate and ensure that prelims are checked and signed by students
  • Verify and securely store student information and application forms
  • Train and orient academic staff regarding academic programmes offered
  • Monitor PoEs, PoAs Assessments, and subject files
  • Handle special enquiries during registration in cooperation with the Campus Manager
  • Ensure timely submission of SORS to DHET regarding examinations
  • Monitor the submissions of daily conduct reports from the Department
  • Oversee the smooth running of the Examination and Assessment cycles working closely with the Campus Manager
  • Monitor examinations on the Campus in planning and preparations
  • Ensure that subject meetings and class visits are conducted as planned
  • Maintain academic-related facilities in cooperation with the Campus Manager by reporting malfunctions/damages promptly
  • Coordinate the ordering of textbooks and other related consumables used for teaching and learning
  • Ensure proper utilization of the equipment used for education and training
  • Determine staff development and training needs in cooperation with SDF, Campus Manager, and Training Committee
  • Minimize disruptions to academic programs and classes
  • Ensure proper feedback and reporting from delegates who attended workshops and training sessions
  • Ensure effective moderation and assessments according to policy/guidelines
  • Organize and implement moderation and assessment systems
  • Participate in the verification process of moderation systems and student marks
  • Manage the IQMS processes
  • Attend meetings of the Academic Board and SSS Committees
