How Many Credit Is Needed To Teach Grade R With Educare Diploma For 2025-2026

The Diploma in Grade R Teaching is a National Qualification Framework (NQF) Level 6 qualification. It consists of 380/388 credits. The NQF groups qualifications with the same learning experiences on the same level. The NQF is administered by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).

Can I Teach Grade R With Educare Diploma Or Certificate For 2025-2026

No, you cannot teach Grade R with an Educare Certificate or Diploma. You can only teach Grade R if you hold any one of the following qualifications:

Diploma in Grade R Teaching OR
Bachelor of Education: Foundation Phase Teaching (B. Ed. Foundation Phase) OR
Bachelor’s Degree (other than a B. Ed.) plus a 1-year Post-Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE), specialising in Foundation Phase teaching

Note: You can however become a Teacher’s Assistant for a Grade R Teacher with your Educare: N6 National Diploma
